Penn State vs Michigan. What a bummer of a game.
Re: Penn State vs Michigan. What a bummer of a game.
Must agree with FBguy99. Chamber's enthusiasm is in no way the problem. Is his ability to get his players to play the way he wants them to a play a problem? Possibly.
Brandon Taylor's persistence that he is a three point shot maker is definitely becoming a major problem for this team. He has shot 13 more three pointers than anyone else on the team and is only making them at 28.4% clip. There are 320 teams (not players) in the NCAA with a better percentage than that. If Chambers is going to continue to allow Taylor to perform at that level offensively the rest of the season, five wins in the B1G will be difficult to achieve.

The easiest thing to do in sports is hustle.

Yeah if you've watched Penn State basketball over the last 20 years, you know they are moving in the right direction. Obviously there is a severe lack of talent on this team when it comes to post players but thankfully the class coming in next year has some people with more natural ability and talent and the 2016 class is off to a good start. It's going to take a few more years but they are certainly moving in the right direction.

He's not a fireball at the right times though, that's what I'm trying to get at. Sorry the embarrassing collapse loss last year against Penn at Rec Hall really left me salty with his attitude on the sidelines when things are going bad. When I saw him just standing and sitting there with his arms crossed just watching a 21 point lead get blown in the last 6:00 of that game without calling a timeout anywhere in there to light a fire under his teams behinds and chew em out was just unacceptable to me. Saw the same thing at Rutgers...no urgency to get this team to play to any sort of potential against lower opponents especially.

But according to him, "It's scary how good this team can be".

That's just coaches speak. That keeps the players practicing hard, that's promise for the incoming recruiting classes, that's motivation for his staff to get as much as they can out of the team. All coaches make similar comments.

This statement wasn't made in October. It was made AFTER a relatively weak OOC schedule. I honestly think Chambers believes what he said. But his days of facing Morgan State, Bucknell and Drexel are over. The Big Ten schedule separates the men from the boys.

I'm well aware of when he made the statement and you can believe what you want. I don't see a problem with a coach being confident in the ability of his team.
Re: Penn State vs Michigan. What a bummer of a game.
I'm sure Chambers believes they "can" be a good team. At this point they are not a good team. Big difference in what they "can" be and what they "are."
Re: Penn State vs Michigan. What a bummer of a game.
No. Chambers believes they ARE a good team now, but can really be scary good.

If that is what you want to believe, well then by all means go ahead.
