Love the Lavert Hill commit. 4* CB has offers from the likes of Ohio St., Michigan, Miami, Tennessee, UNC and interest from Notre Dame and Michigan St.

As always a lot can happen in a year but currently PSU class of 2016 off to a very nice start.

The word is that Damar Hamlin is very close to committing but wants to see Notre Dame first. If a kid visits ND, there is always a chance that changes everything, but if not that puts PSU in real good shape in the WPIAL for 2016. I can see PSU going hard after Hudson and Pryts. I think Aaron Mathews continues the Clairton pipeline to Pitt. Pugh will be a WVU Pitt battle I think

Penn State is also close with 4 star OL Connor McGovern. He wants to take a few visits first.

This class is off to a great start. It's early though, so it remains to be seen if they keep them all.

Any chance that PSU can actually go into Ohio and steal Brandon Ferns?

For those of us that don't follow recruiting all year long and just like a drive by near signing day, could someone post a PSU/Pitt summary. Also, are there any top recruits that either program are waiting on a commitment from on signing day? Are the classes full?

Anything would help...

From 1/22/15

"Only Central Valley cornerback Jordan Whitehead and Kittanning tight end Nick Bowers have Penn State offers among Pitt's commitments."

And since this article Bowers flipped to PSU.

Penn State probably could have finished with a class between 5-10 in the country, but lost out on a few key recruits such as Wimbush(4* QB who is very good), Wilkins(5 Star DT), and Mclean (4 Star DT). All 3 were big positions of need. Penn State filled Wimbush's spot with a 3 star QB from Indiana(in my opinion not nearly as good as Wimbush) and a 3 star DT who is not nearly as regarded as the other DT's. Other than that it is a great class of WR's, RB's, LB's, and DB's. They added 4 solid players along the OL, but Jenkins is a project.

Pitt could have finished as high as 40 or so under Chryst. They will probably finish between 55-60 with Narduzzi. I don't know much about the kids Pitt landed, because only one of them had a Penn State offer. The one that did, however, is a great one. Jordan Whitehead will be a great player. I think the two linebackers Pitt landed were pretty good in Brightwell and McKee.

To answer your question..no I don't believe there are any big names that will be late adds to these classes. PSU has room for one more but may just hang on to that for next year.

Locksley has indeed flipped to Texas. Still no official word on where O'Korn is actually headed.
