Vincentian 86 Old Fordge 38

"Vincentian (30-1) was absolutely dominant, leading by 18 points after just one quarter and 28 points at halftime. The Royals summoned the mercy rule in the fourth quarter. The Royals shot 45 percent from the field and forced a whopping 45 turnovers."

Blairsville should feel pretty good about how they played them - down by 8 at the half.

HSD6FAN wrote:In girls action, the AA game was a close one. Neumann-Goretti squeaks out a nail biter 79-35. At one time the score was 75-25. The PIAA should reimburse everyone that attended the "A" boys and "AA" girls games.

That is embarrassing and those teams should be embarrassed for accepting a championship in those classifications. Even Seton-LaSalle (private school out of Pittsburgh) couldn't recruit enough players to even keep the game in the ballpark!
Nothing less exciting than going to the State Finals and getting to watch two JV teams play the last quarter. That should rarely, if ever, happen, let alone three times in one weekend.

You have to really be impressed that the USA Today #1 ranked girls team in the country is playing in the next to lowest class in the state of PA. /:)

The problem is that it's a monopolistic enterprise. There is no 'competition' for your money. So, therefore, it shouldn't take a boycott to get the thing right. If there were a competing state league that teams could opt for that had better systems and controls, then we could argue to go see it. But, there isn't.

Yaaaaaaa. I believe there is. It starts with WPIAL They control more than you think. Just look at football season to start. Just need to start the ball rolling. It takes nerves of steel.

The state is a monopoly?

Should there be "B" finals?

There should be four classes for public and two or three for privates. They make up less than 20% of schools, but won over half of the championships.
