5-4 through 5-9 scores
Re: 5-4 through 5-9 scores
D. TIE-BREAKING CRITERIA - To determine champions and sectional representatives
The following seven steps are to be used sequentially.
1. Most wins in the section.
2. Head to head competition.
3. Common opponents played the same number of times – tournaments will not be considered.
a. Conference opponents considered first
b. Non-conference opponents considered second
4. Overall record (percentage) includes all games except tournament games.
5. Overall number of wins, tournaments games would not be included.
All teams tied at this point will be declared section co-champions. All teams will receive a
trophy and all athletes will receive medals. To determine which team plays for the league
championship steps 6 and 7 will be applied.
6. Rose bowl rule.
7. Coin toss

Re: 5-4 through 5-9 scores
Well if it truly goes by this list then Non-conference should have been taken first before overall record correct? Portage has non conference games against Bishop McCort(Win) and Forest Hills(Loss) on their resume. Ferndale does not have ONE game out of the WestPac conference. I guess they were supposed to play Johnstown but got cancelled and never made it up. They do have a quality cross division win in Shanksville. So apparently not playing ANY out of conference games was rewarded....bball22 wrote:D. TIE-BREAKING CRITERIA - To determine champions and sectional representatives

Homer and ligonier both lose yesterday, blairsville wins. If blairsville loses Monday to homer but wins both games in their double header with PM then it's tri champs. If they win though and win one of the double header games it's theirs

#4 on the list is what determined the tie-breaker.

Ferndale was beating Johnstown when it got called, mowing through their order every inning. Portage played the out of westpac teams while ferndale had Shanksville and Meyersde set. Can't blame it on them not playing quality teams, they did beat Shanksville that also best Meyersdale. Yes. It's all set Ferndale vs Meyersdale Monday at somerset high school.
