Re: Trib Dem on the pay roll??????

Didn't realize that wrestling was such an important sport. A front page headline in today's Tribune reads "McCort to Launch Wrestling in 2016". Shouldn't this be on the sports page? And someone thought the Tribune was on Johnstown's payroll, and that BM was getting NEGATIVE coverage. YIKES!!

After reading the article, I found it interesting that BMCHS is in yr. 3 of a 4 yr. co-op with Westy. Now they want to 'void' the last yr. Interesting how a LOT of things centering around BMCHS, they want to CHANGE the agreement, to suit themselves. I remember a certain candidate for a certain coaching position not long ago, that had been GIVEN the position with ALL KINDS of local MEDIA hype, and a couple days later, they ....umm....changed their minds about hiring him. Then there was the individual who had a "past", yet they vetted him through the hiring process and left him "unsupervised" around young men, for how many years. The spectre of impropriety lives on Osborne St. On the other hand, Westy doesn't want to give up these 7 stud underclassmen for this coming season. Interesting, isn't it?

Manfred, I could agree with you more, about Bishop McCort, but who are the 7 stud underclassmen from McCort that wrestled at Westmont. I know Walter, Andrews and Jones are all great wrestler from McCort, but who are the rest? I wait for reply.

Talk to the Trib. They're the ones who reported of the 15 kids at Westy, 8 were actually from Westy. By simple math, which I believe is part of the curriculum at BMCHS, that leaves 7, count 'em, SEVEN, kids from BMCHS.

Only in this armpit of a town can you bring a stolen gun to school and end-up on the front page of the newspaper like a hero. Is the Tribune on the payroll of Johnstown High? The people that run the Tribune must share a brain with the people that run J-town High. I'm all for second chances, when they are deserved, but this is ridiculous. Forget the honor society kids, let's throw a party for this kid, and put him on the front page of the paper, what a joke!!!

What the real problem is what kind of message does that send to the rest of your students. You can be expelled for bringing a loaded gun to school and not only still graduate but the school will call the tribune to come in and run a story on you. Also I was told this was the same kid that posted videos of him and other basketball players using drugs in a rap video just last year. Great Job JTOWN!!!!!!!

I just received a private message from someone I will not reveal because they are scared for their job if someone found out who they are. This is a disturbing issue if true. Apparently there were several football and basketball players who didn’t miss one game this season for any sport but for some reason did not graduate due to grades. How is that possible???? How do you participate in every game but your grades are too bad to graduate. I believe this needs looked into. District 6 and PIAA needs to look into this.

"They had my back" I bring a loaded gun to school and in a town that has lost almost all of it's moral compass I become a hero and role model deserving of a front page story in the local paper.

We live in a scary place that has degraded to the point that it is unrecognizable to those of us who grew up here. Democraps and an evil teachers union take over our public schools. Harm our children advancing union agenda at their expense. No rules. No discipline, No accountability. Indoctrinate instead of educate. Jobs leave. Property values fall off a cliff while public school taxes continue to increase to feed the monster. Neighborhoods decline. Crime increases. Our "community leaders" continue to squabble and fight over scraps while waiting for the next "grant". Population plummets. Most bright young people leave as soon as they can. Those who can are isolating themselves and their families from what is to come - dividing our society......................It's just a ball of confusion.....that's what the world is today ...hey, hey.

May God help us all

Even though I am a republican I don’t believe that all dems are bad. I do believe the dems that run Jtown are bad for the city and the youth that go to that school. If we want to save our community and youth these loose academic rules to let kids play, getting parents and players jobs to transfer from schools, bringing loaded weapons to class, basketball team under probation, mis-accounting for millions of dollars, nepotism, sexual harassment. All of these things have allegedly been going on the past several years. Who is looking into this, who is doing anything about it? It’s about time someone does something to correct this issue.

Prophet, three things:

1) There is no "community" in Greater Johnstown. With 30 separate mostly failing independent municipalities and 14 shrinking public school districts -- all are lined up at the free money trough fighting, backstabbing, protecting turfs. There is no cooperation, no unity. Just a bunch on folks fighting for scraps - for their share of transfer payments deftly delivered by democrap politicians.

2) Don't hold you breath waiting for anyone to do anything (even acknowledge) about the issues you have raised. The people doing these things view it as their birthright.

3) The tribune democrap is just a reflection of the character (or lack thereof) that remains in the area. The downward spiral of stupidity that prevents municipality and school consolidation is embodied in this rag. The fact that they glorified someone who brought a loaded handgun to school is a new level of bizarreness.
