Re: Trib Dem on the pay roll??????

Post by sonofpsycho »

$24 million here....$36 million there.............to fund duplicative school districts in the poorest area in the Commonwealth of PA and the 4th poorest in America. Sure.....most of the money is coming form the people of those districts. Right.... They have a lot of spare cash laying around. The fact that anyone would make such a statement shows the problem we have around here.

The FACT is that our idiot politicians are having a debate in Harrisburg on how to increase school funding without even considering the fact that we have 100 duplicative unneeded wasteful public school districts in PA that should be consolidated. CONSOLIDATION is not even being discussed. It is not even part of the conversation. WHY? Because the morons we have sent to Harrisburg only want to get re elected and are directly intimidated by the PSEA. You talk about consolidation, we oppose you in the next election. Case closed.

So instead of cutting costs and improving education our pols want to tax us more. Gas extraction tax to kill jobs. A 16.6% increase in state sales tax and a 25% increase in personal income tax --- FOR WHAT?? ---To keep feeding the monster and to keep their jobs.

Yeah, this thread is pretty much every attitude that's wrong with Pennsylvania.
This is how we got 67 counties, 500 school districts and 4,000 municipalities, all of which are collapsing under their own weight.

You forgot fifty states. Perhaps we should only have eight or nine.

Interesting article in today's Tribune Democrap about Westmont lowering its taxes. "Through attrition we took out some middle management positions". Any time you can eliminate jobs of people who apparently don't do anything you do it. What entails middle management in a school district? Windber Hospital did the same thing recently. It cut three high paying positions and said their work would be passed down to line managers. You have to wonder how many people have jobs but do little work.
