Re: HERITAGE WEEK 3
So Penns manor chose to play a team they would beat by 50 instead of making sure they had a game?

You shouldn't have to travel 4+ hours just to get a high school football game. That's the only ridiculous thing I see

So two year signed contracts can be voided at any time? Why sign the contracts then? And 4 1/2 hours for a non-playoff game is ridiculous.

I agree big Ben, Playing the AA team would have provided pm with more experience as a playoff team. I do not think that St Joe's should break a contract though. If they locked in for 2 years they should honor it and not force a team to travel a great distance to find another game

Re: HERITAGE WEEK 3
I spoke to a PM coach today and he said mid summer St. Joes told PM that they didnt want to play citing safety concerns. A few weeks later St. Joes agreed to a co-op with Grace Prep and the game was back on. The coach said today that St. Joes initiated film exchange with PM on Saturday. Film was exchanged and PM thought the game was on. On Tuesday morning St. Joes called and said they forfeit the game.
Next week St. Joes plays Purchase Line at PL Saturday night. PL is planning a reunion for the 1990 team and playing Saturday so Coach Dalton can be there. Hope that games happens. However, if St. Joes decides to play, then District 6 needs to intervene and investigate why they didnt play PM. There should not be a pick and choose who you are playing, especially if you have a contract. Im sure teams in the WPIAL dont want to play Clariton, but they do.
It is my opinion that St. Joes needs to be sanctioned by District 6 or PIAA. Their entire athletic programs should be put on probation, including basketball and baseball with no playoffs. My opinion of course

Thank you for the clarification Whiteowl. I know the first I heard about it was at a baseball PM HS Baseball game in Clymer. I posted on here about it. There was a pretty good discussion on the pro's and cons of PM playing the Philly school. It was around the March/April time frame. I also agree they need looked at.WhiteOwl wrote:I spoke to a PM coach today and he said mid summer St. Joes told PM that they didnt want to play citing safety concerns. Sorry to revive but St Joe's is now on probation I believe. Is this the reason and what are the consequences?

As I understand it, YES. The whole "not enough healthy kids available " was a farce. And D6 found out about it.
