Re: RMG's GAMETAPE - (1) Bedford at (2) Somerset
Bedford's defense was impressive, but what kind of play calling are you making up by 21 and passing?! Read-option was working to perfection and taking time off the clock, but you choose to pass instead? Bedford is not a strong passing team at all, and it may come back to bite them in November.
Re: RMG's GAMETAPE - (1) Bedford at (2) Somerset
I was at the game. I don't remember much passing. I think Altoona paper said Bedford attempted 5 passes? That's not exactly what I would call airing it out. I didn't really see much read option either. Most of Bedford's success looked to be that triple option they have run forever and midline. I think last year Bedford threw for like 1,800 yards according to The Blitz magazine??? With most of the team back I would assume they can still be a decent passing team. I think the older Shaffer kid is their main receiving threat and he has only played a quarter or so all year. From what I saw I think Bedford will be ok. Somerset was considered a top team in the area and Bedford dominated them pretty well.
