Mountain League Week 8
Chestnut Ridge(4-3) @ Penns Valley (2-5)
The Rams playoff hopes are over and just looking to finish out the season on a strong note. The Lions will make a road trip to Spring Mills for the longest travel date in the conference. The long bus ride won't stop the Lions from coming away with the win. Penns Valley is very vulnerable against the pass, Ridge has already had a perfect passing night this season. This might be the second.
Bellefonte(3-4) @ Central (6-1)
Bellefonte is much improved and playing well for coach Manning. They are big up front with physical fast backs, and an improving defense. The Red Raiders are still in the rebuilding process but should be able to keep this one close till half time. They did it to Clearfield and Tyrone, and Central will be next. The problem has been the second half. The Dragons roll on as they eye the 1 seed for D6 AA.
Philipsburg-Osceola(0-7) @ Huntingdon(4-3)
Not much to say here the Mountie streak grows to 25 games and Huntingdon only gets 100 points for the playoff standings.
Tyrone (5-2) @ Central Mountain (2-5)
After a very physical game last week, Tyrone must regroup as they are on the road once again. This week is a key to the rest of the season as they face the Wildcats. A victory jumping 2 classes will put them right where they want to be for the post season. A loss and they will head to the road for round 2.
Bald Eagle(1-6) @ Clearfield (6-1)
After early game mistakes, and some help from the stripes, Clearfield was able to pull away from Tyrone and wrap up the conference championship last week. Another set of Eagles travel to Clearfield for week 8 and this one looks to get ugly early. The Eagles have no offense, no defense, and no speed, Clearfield has all of those components. The Bison will be playing bull in the ring by half time.
