Week 9 scores
Re: Week 9 scores
What is your reasoning behind this? Portage played a tight game with BG in the D6 championship last year. Until they've played common teams, you can't say Portage isn't in the same class as PM.

Portage is not in the same discussion as PM? Last year they were not in the same discussion as Blairsville, the year before HC. As for injuries, they happen and you deal with them. Friday I saw Jeannette lose their leading rusher on the first drive of the game. They adjusted on the fly and beat a very good GCC team.

Some schools are equipped to handle injuries... However, at many small schools you don't just "adjust on the fly." As much as we like to get on coaches all the time, at the end of the day, players make plays. Most of the time at small schools when you are without your playmakers there isn't just another one ready to step in and do what the very best players do. Since you are living in the past... Portage Blairsville last year is the perfect example... Portage did not belong in the same discussion as Blairsville until Blairsville had their best player get hurt. Portage was well on their way to being embarrassed up until that point...NeutralGuy wrote:Portage is not in the same discussion as PM? You're a fool. Portage hung right in there with the state champs. So unless you believe that Blairsville was going to be the state champs, then you're a fool. That was a great Portage team that had every right to be in the D6 championship game and we're in the same discussion.

Re: Week 9 scores
Again... Keep living in the past. I only brought it up because you did. Portage proved they did belong last year. They had a great game plan and executed it very well against BG. Back on topic... This year's Portage team is not in the discussion. They aren't nearly as good this year, but Berlin is... It truly is too much fun getting the Portage lovers fired up. I'll give you credit though... I wish every team had fans this passionate!12HankQB wrote:You're a fool. Portage hung right in there with the state champs. Maybe it slipped your mind that Portage was down 21-6 at halftime against blairsville, or something similar to that, and blairsville was in control of the game until their starting back got hurt. So while at full strength blairsville was handling the Mustangs and could've potentially given guilfoyle some fits at times. Not saying they would've beaten them but blairsville was just as good as portage, don't make it seem like didn't deserve to be on the same field with the almighty mustangs12HankQB wrote:You're a fool. Re: Week 9 scores
But how can you prove that of Portage? They only lost to Berlin. Until playoffs happen you can't say that they're not in the discussion.
I never said Blairsville wasn't as good as Portage, I believe they were and with their back may have won, but I was making the case that Portage was in with the best last year after Superman belittled them

I prefer Spiderman, but thanks for the compliment! Spiderman didn't belittle last year's team. In fact I said they proved they belong... I'm also not belittling this year's team either. They have a nice team. They have had a successful season. They just aren't in the discussion with PM or BG THIS YEAR... Hopefully, come playoff time it can be decided on the field. Until then, we will need to agree to disagree because its just our opinions. My opinion is no better than yours, I'm just sharing what I believe...12HankQB wrote:But how can you prove that of Portage? They only lost to Berlin. Well what I'm saying is how can you say PM is better when they've had no common opponents?

Re: Week 9 scores
Portage is much weaker than last year. PM returned all but 1 player. Their line is the best non BG line in A. Even with a 19-12 score against LV, PM moved the ball all game 4 to 5 yards a play. Clean up penalties we will be in for the best single A game in a long time for D6.
