Re: Camp Hill vs. BG (Quarterfinals)
you do realize they play a mostly 2A/3A schedule right? records aside for 2 of the 3A schools, they're still beating bigger schools on a regular basis. That loss came to a very good 3A Middletown team.ExRaided wrote:Then answer this for me. Why does Camp Hill's schedule/scores not impress me? Their wins against average to good opponents were nothing impressive. They even struggled with some of them and lost one. How is a team like that to compete with BG? Do they play up/down to their competition?billmurray wrote:I'm guessing many of you haven't seen Camp Hill this year. This will be the best team BG faces since Clairton last year...Camp Hill is loaded, Shuster is having a monster year and he is a serious dual threat. Their defense is quick and they have the athletes to match up with BG...This will be a great game. I do give the advantage to BG up front, but they'll have to be fast. Shuster get's rid of the ball quick

I'm not trying to be an **** here. I just don't know much about them. I can only go by stats, rankings, schedule, and scores. If you want to throw around that they lost a tight game to a "very good" 3A middletown team that happens to be ranked 174 then I can come back with how BG beat 3A Somerset and 3A Greater Johnston both convincing wins and both ranked higher than CH.billmurray wrote:

I just can't see how they're supposedly so good. I mean we'll find out for sure Friday night.

exraided, never accused you of that...I don't know where you get your rankings but in our eastern 1A rankings they are 2nd to old forge...it's a win/class based points system. That is a somewhat competitive league the play in, probably a little bit moreso than the LHAC. It's a Mid Penn Conference. I'm not saying either will win, I like to bring whatever info I can from eastern teams so people on this forum have a little better idea what they're facing in the state playoffs. As for not seeing how they're good...they have a D1 qb...in single A that means the world.

Wait if D6 A is going to be in eastern side of the bracket why are they not in the eastern rankings?????
Either way its cold and passing wont mean much if recievers cant hold on to the ball. Itll be over by halftime and then BG will probably have to deal with old forge before having the rematch.

Maxpreps shows a good bit of info. Do a little digging into the schedules the teams play and you can normally get an idea if they're legit or not.billmurray wrote:exraided, never accused you of that...I don't know where you get your rankings but in our eastern 1A rankings they are 2nd to old forge...it's a win/class based points system. Re: Camp Hill vs. BG (Quarterfinals)
Cold weather doesn't play a factor in receiving...just look at some of last years games. It was cold at Hershey and South Fayette, St Joes and Pine-Richland passed the ball pretty well, as did Bishop McDevitt and several others in the semis. It was also very cold here for districts and many teams had no problem throwing the ball, even in the wind several weeks ago..plus, it really isn't that cold here this year. Game time temps should be around 40...not so badkonjo78 wrote:Wait if D6 A is going to be in eastern side of the bracket why are they not in the eastern rankings?????

PennLive has BG as a 16 point favorite.

... then you can probably add 10 more since pennlive favors the eastern side of the state. I'm not complaining. I understand their bias based on their location and coverage.. just an observation. I appreciate the work they do.lhacbigfan wrote:PennLive has BG as a 16 point favorite.
