Is that their "natural" spot with enrollment, or their choice to play up one class? Just asking, because didn't they fall into A this year but chose to play up one to AA?

If my understanding is correct they actually are a A team. Always played up to AA and are choosing to play up to AAA because the teams they play will be closer in AAA than they would be in AA.

Yea, Aliquippa is a 1A team enrollment wise and are playing up 2 classes.

WPIAL championship info was released today and I'm sure the A and AA teams won't be pleased.

6A, 5A, 4A, and 3A will all hold their championship games at Heinz Field on Friday 11/18. The 2A and 1A championships will be held the following weekend at a site to be determined.

6, 5, 4 and 3A will have an 8 team playoff. 2A and 1A will maintain a 16 team bracket.

Yes and apparently they will combine with D8 come playoff time which consists of Westinghouse and Obama Academy.
