Bellwood serves notice

[font=Calibri]In as much as you can during the summer, Bellwood served notice to the rest of the District that they will be very difficult to handle in the finals of the Hollidaysburg Y league.   Bellwood surprisingly dominated Altoona from start to finish to post a 69-38 crushing of the Lady Lions.  It was Altoona’s first loss to a high school team in league play.   Bellwood showed why they are going to be a power in class AA in the district and state wide to close out the summer.   St. Francis commit Karson Swogger showed once again that she is one of the best players in western Pa.  She continues to play at a very high level and showed what a true leader and point guard does.   If you have a chance to watch one of their games this winter by all means do so.  To me, in class AA, Bellwood and McCort are headed for a showdown and will feature two of the best players around and future teammates at St. Francis with Swogger and Haley Thomas.   Both teams could go deep into the state playoffs this season.  Great to see SFU recruiting the local talent. [/font]
