Did you see where they wanted to take away the honor of carrying the Stars & Stripes away from Phelps, in favor of a young Muslim woman?

....and this would have been a problem because.......

I hadn't seen, or heard, anything about this proposition. I'm curious how it came about, as it smells like Political Correctness. If that isn't the case peytonsaturday, please tell us the circumstances that make her a better choice to represent the face of America at the Olympics, than Phelps. 
When Manfred asked a simple question, you give him a -3 and call him a racist jackass.......YOU smell like Political Correctness incarnate. In your world, nobody is even allowed to ask a question,  or make an observation about a Muslim?
You do know that the murderers responsible for 9-11 were all Muslim, correct? No Christians, or Hindus, or Buddhists, or any other religion, not even Athiests hijacked planes and drove into those towers in the name of their god. 
They were Muslim. And, Muslims around the world Cheered on my American television that day,...as American men, women, and children died at the hands of Muslims.
Does that mean all Muslims are evil? No. Not necessarily. 
But, it does then warrant that a prudent nation and individuals would question various motives, etc.
Political Correctness is out of control.
And, people like you carry that banner.

3. NO WHERE did I state that she would be a better choice to carry the flag.  If I did, please by all means quote it.
4. Radical Muslims cheered.  In true Muslim faith, they are pacifists.....in case you didn't know that means they no like violence.
5. Radical Muslims are JUST AS BAD as radical Christians.
6. Please explain how the WTC fell in free fall fashion?  You can't because it would be impossible due to a plane wrecking into it only, then tell me that Muslims were solely the reason for the 9/11 attacks.  Also, please explain how a plane just.....DISAPPEARS!

W. Kamau Bell, a CNN anchor is they. So it was no one affiliated with the US Olympic team or even the US government. It was one talking head. Not much of a story if you ask me.

The only thing wrong with it is that Michael Phelps has never carried the flag and he's our best Olympian ever. If she didn't wear a hijab, nobody would be up in arms about it. The problem is there's those who think their guns are going to be taken away and there's those who think guns are the problem (not the people using them). The girl was born in the US and could kick all our buts with a sabre. I think it would've been okay if she carried the flag, but maybe at the last Olympics...not this one wear everyone's panties are on too tight and it would only appear as a statement. 

I agree it would only appear as a statement.  I just have a problem with the orginal poster feeling the need to point out her religion.  Touch of bigotry I'm sure intended.  
And just to educate those who may not know, the democrats ARE NOT trying to TAKE GUNS AWAY.  They are trying to force a harder way to get said guns.  NOT take those already owned from the owner.  Deer rifles were made for killing deer.  Bear rifles, bears.  AR15's....those were made for killing people, and should not be sold to the general public under no circumstances.  Those would be the only guns "taken away".  The fact you can go to a gun bash and get a gun with very little background checks, meanwhile I need to have extensive ones to sell friggin office equipment is absurd.  Even going to a store and walking out same day with a gun, while I need to wait up (well not anymore, but new hires) to 6 weeks before 4 clearances, 4 professional, 2 personal background checks, and 2 days of job shadowing are needed before they can get hired......something seems backwards doesn't it?

There's been 420 murders in Chicago this year. 370 of these as a result of gunshot. 317 of them African-American. Of the assailants caught: 58 African-American, 18 Hispanic, 2 Caucasian, and 6 killed by police. Who's killing who? The media won't make this a big deal because it won't cause chaos and turmoil. This is in a city with some of the most gun control. Ya see, bad guys don't always go to Gander or Cabelas to get guns. When you outlaw guns, you take away guns from the good guys. I think you should definitely have to go through extensive background checks, cause let's face it, it's well worth the wait to blow up some tannerite with an AR.
