DragonsDoExist....you could say that about a number of teams...Clairton is benefiting from reclassification with Berlin moving to Double A, blah, blah...I was at the Ligonier vs Central playoff game...I believe it was 16-13 at the half...sure, Central pulled away in the 2nd half but they aren't too far ahead of Ligonier...maybe not at all this year...but we'll never know...

Good thing first half scores count for a lot. Maybe we could give them 1/2 a win for that? They play 4 quarters for a reason because the superior team usually separates themselves from the inferior team. 2 losses by a combined 39 points? I guess ligonier really isn't that far behind in anything but the score.

I am sure there are a number of teams in 3A (including Central) that are very happy that Ligonier Valley is classified in 2A!

No means saying LV isn't deserving just that I feel the odds on favorite talk has more to do with the change in landscape and less to do with the fact they are that much better than they were last year. None of which is in their control and here's hoping they take full advantage of it. I would be more than glad to if the shoe was on the other foot!

I will rephrase the question in an everyone gets a trophy, participation award kind of way.  As to not offend or belittle anyone.  Heaven forbid we teach a kid how to use critics as motivation.  Definitely don't want them to have to deal with adversity and rejection.  That's never going to happen in the real world.  Alright, down off my soapbox.
After one week.  Would anyone change their pre-season rankings?  Here is mine.
Ligonier Valley
Northern Cambria
Homer-Center
Purchase Line
Penns Manor
Blairsville
West Shamokin
United
Saltsburg and Marion Center (Don't want to offend anyone by saying a team is the worst)
After watching the PM/NC game last week, I would move NC down 2. And PM down below Blairsville.  That may change but that was a horrible game.

DragonsDoExist...I went the to the Aliquippa game last year at Hempfield and Central was very close in pulling that game off...winning late with a little over 4 minutes left...I know Ligonier has everyone back and Central lost some key players...of course Benton the QB, but #5 was very good on O and D and Helsel was very explosive on both sides of the ball...I think it would've been an awesome game to watch if they played this year...but oh well, Good Luck to Central...maybe I'll catch one of their games this year...I like watching good teams play the game...

I am very much looking forward to watching both Ligonier and Central play this year. I think there are high expectations for both teams. I expect Central to do as well if not better than their results from last year. They are a very good team!! "DragonsDoExist" - good luck this year.

PaulCrewe18...nobody said anything about giving them a 1/2 win or that you don't play 4 quarters...what's your deal? Let me guess, you're another victim of the big school beating up on the little school Kool aid drinker!!!
