Westpac Week 5
Last week 5-0, Year 18-2.
Conemaugh Township (4-0) at Windber (2-2) - Will the Indians be looking ahead to the big game next week? Not against the rival Ramblers. CT takes care of business 42-14.
North Star (0-4) at Conemaugh Valley (1-3) - Can the Cougars get over the hump and get a win? I think they pull out a close one. North Star 14-13.
Blacklick Valley (0-4) at Portage (3-1) - Vikings will have a hard time getting a W this season. Still not sure how good the Mustangs are but they might not be tested again until Berlin comes to town in Week 8. Portage 49-7.
Shade (2-2) at Berlin (4-0) - Panther's Fyfe doing some good things at QB averaging over 100 yards passing and rushing a game. How will Berlin handle the loss of Booth? I think the Mountaineer's defense is good enough to hold down the Panthers. Berlin 35-7.
Ferndale (2-2) at Meyersdale (2-2) - This should be a close game. Ferndale is leading the league in passing but can't seem to run the ball with any success. Meyersdale's defense pulls it out 20-14.

Re: Westpac Week 5
I don't have time to write a page about every game like Crimson's Ghost. I'm just trying to point out some observations based on what I've seen from the teams and make a prediction.

Yea, I really hope you're not bashing this, because it's a thousand times better than the one you didn't do. Why can't people just be happy on this dang site that someone actually put a little effort forth?? This site is for discussing topics, not for bashing those who actually gave an input.peytonsaturday wrote:In depth analysis

Superstar, great job for taking the time to write out facts about each game. I enjoy reading stories about different teams and the league they play in. Keep up the good work.
Re: Westpac Week 5
I hope Berlin-Shade is that good. I don't see the Booth injury hurting until playoffs. I think this game will end up the same as recent. 56-6. I'll give shade one against jv defense.

Not sure how good Shade is. They gave CT all they could handle but lost to Ferndale at home. I think Berlin is still the favorite in the Westpac even without Booth, but I think it will make the Township and Portage games closer and more interesting.

Superstar, love this..keep it going. Berlin is tough again..even though they lost the speed of the Booth boy. Hoping Portage and CT fair well against Berlin. At least make a good game of it. Both teams will have to play better than been playing to beat them.
Portage also lost some key kids due to injury and it has shown on the field.

Shade is good. They've been good for five years or so. They're just really inconsistent. They lose a game they should win then almost win or just beat a better team. They had a big win last week so I'm assuming they won't play nearly as good and it's homecoming in Berlin. I'm also hoping CT and portage can at least hang around with Berlin but I don't have my hopes up. Patiently waiting for week ten.

Re: Westpac Week 5
This year Shade seems to have some size and a few skill players. Played us to the end couple years ago, when we were making a pretty good run. Time will tell if Portage or Conemaugh Twp shows up. I'm sure calendars are marked for all respective teams.
