I know some schools that would suspend you for those comments. As sad as that sounds.

One issue is there just aren't many officials around, most crews I've talked with all say numbers are down.

When as a society did we become so fragile and get butt hurt by everything that someone says? Who cares coaches and players put a lot of time in and when you lose tight games and watch your playoff hopes slip away you can be emotional. Most coaches know when their emotional and they step away and try to cool down before talking to media.

I do agree that people today are too sensitive. Your second point is very valid too. I think the difference here is that this guy does it just about every time they lose for the last 2 years......

Agree with Guru on this one.  It's a repetitive thing with this guy, not just in the papers but at coaches and rules interpretations meetings as well.
The other thing is the Playoff comments.  What did they have to do with the Williamsburg loss?  Crimson Lion says "coaches and players put a lot of time in and when you lose tight games and watch your playoff hopes slip away you can be emotional."
Well, his playoff hopes didn't "slip away," they are totally in the hands of the subregional rules for qualifying which have been public knowledge since a late September District 5 meeting.  So I'm calling 'bullshit' on his claim of being "surprised on Tuesday."  Bottom line...he uses his interviews as a chance to bash anyone and anything when he loses.  Anyone remember him calling out his Quarterback and saying very negative things about the kid to the papers after a loss in 2015??   You would think with his age and experience he would have more control.

As usual, comments delve into the tired "we're getting soft" or "things are like they used to be".  Maybe I'm old school but I don't think coaches should ever comment on officiating.  There is never ONE play that ruins a game in football, it's not like a bad call for a penalty kick in soccer.  Without seeing any of the game film, I can guarantee Everett had other chances.  Hell, he even admitted himself that their own turnovers helped in their demise.
Also, isn't this the guy that came in all fired up at Conemaugh Valley and then bailed on them because of "numbers"?
As to the playoffs thing, it's amazing to me how many issues/problems there are with District 5 and 6 playoffs.  Say what you will about the WPIAL but at least with their slotted, bracket system based on section qualifiers, there are no "surprises".  There might be snubbed teams like in the NCAA basketball but it seems that all the coaches know the rules.  The points systems and subregional type stuff, it's just too much open for interpretation.

Yeah let's keep a top 10 state ranked team out of the playoffs just cuz it's easier to interpret. Yeah D5-AA is messed up but I've got no problem interpreting the D6 system and the best teams will be playing.

Also, I've never heard the expression "have your cake and ice cream and eat it".  And also, that expression is stupid just with cake.  What is the point of cake if you aren't going to be allowed to eat it.

I don't recall what their numbers were, but CV was always a small school.  My dad taught elementary there and we went to a lot of games together in the 80s and 90s, they were always in Class A as far as I recall. Jacoby did a pretty good job and I never recall the "numbers" excuse.  Look at what Clairton does.

Conemaugh Valley has no freshman on its football team this year.  They will have nineteen kids returning next year. They had just thirteen kids on their 7th and 8th grade roster when this season started.  They may struggle to field a team in 2018 and beyond.
