It's funny the comments about Hoenstine being the only player on the team and I understand what the stats say but read the opposing coaches comments each week or watch a game. Teams know he's getting the ball but there are 10 other guys out there doing something right that allows him to get his night after night.

To me it's more impressive that an opposing team knows who's getting the ball every play and still can't stop them. Don't understand the logic from GoldenRam that a player is better simply because there are other players with good stats too. Doesn't necessarily prove anything one way or another.

I see what BG did without Chadbourne, I see what Berlin is without Booth,
My question is could Central compete without Hoenstine?   He is a gold mine of talent and makes everyone around him better.
But so was Nick Hite at PC and people figured out that if you took him away, PC had nothing else, if a strong enough team takes Alex away what will happen?   It is the same question for LV, if a team controls the line and they can not run, will they be able to pass?  Big difference when the defense is dictation what you are able to do instead of allowing you to run any offense you want.

Jared Smith for Central is an absolute BEAST! Not on the same level as Hoenstine, but the kid is a HAMMER!!!

Against McCort they kept things tight but then McCort's athletes just took control of the game. Ligonier I think has too many skill difference makers. Westmont does have a big line and if you let them dictate the pace you could be in for  a letdown, but I just don't see it.
Ligonier has the size to match Westmont.  When it comes to athleticism, Westmont is severely outclassed.  They aren't going to be able to dictate the pace, because they aren't going to convert first downs.
Does Ligonier Valley have better athletes than Johnstown,.  Westmont hung with Johnstown.

I think Central would be ok without Hoenstine. They probably wouldnt go as far but they would be a solid team. Just like when B-A had Klinefelter and Tyrone had Jesse Jones it would be a big loss but the cupboard wouldn't be bare.
