Christian McCaffrey
Re: Christian McCaffrey
If he drops out of the first round it will have NOTHING to do with him skipping the Sun Bowl. NOTHING.

Here is an article that's a good read. Also saw another where his teammates are all backing him saying that he is a great teammate and support his decision. I don't think this is a selfish move at all. As the article I shared above shows, an ACL injury can kill your draft stock.

Fournette is ESPN's top ranked player in this year's draft. If he doesn't go first round it's a position thing. Not because he opted not to play in a bowl game.konjo78 wrote:Just googling mock drafts right now mccaffrey is in nobodys 1st round and fournette is hit or miss in them. So to act like they have nothing to prove is a big eye opener. Highest i saw was fournette at 6. McCaffrey MIA
Re: Christian McCaffrey
Bad Character, he's the antagonist of the NFL. He's going down down down just like the itsy bitsy spider

What does ESPN know?!?! How credible are they?CCDevil2012 wrote:Fournette is ESPN's top ranked player in this year's draft. If he doesn't go first round it's a position thing. I stopped reading on the third page and jumped to here. I couldn't take Konjo on page 3, so who knows how far it went in the rest of the pages.
You are clueless if you think this hurts him or if this is a knock on his character. You even brought up Bell in one of your posts. The dude has been suspended for smoking pot man and everyone talks about how great he is as a player. If he was such a character guy, maybe he would stop smoking pot and making rap hits to focus on football.
Did you see the big drop last year in draft status for the Laremy Tunsil? Talk about a potential shot at character...he dropped a few spots, but talent seems to trump everything in the NFL.....
AND maybe, just maybe that's why people can't stand to watch it and ratings are dropping. The people are sick of Colin Kaepernick, Tunsil, etc etc. Michael Floyd gets in trouble and a few days later lands in New England. Somehow, he'll behave their though. He'll avoid trouble and maybe get himself a ring.
Character isn't dropping Christian McAffrey. Talent might, but his character for not playing in a bowl game will have 0% to do with it.

Re: Christian McCaffrey
I've done a google search... I've looked on twitter... i've asked friends of mine and none of them have yielded much outside of Zeke.
I came to the be all and know all of absolutely nothing Mr. Konjo hoping to find guidance and you as well have failed me.
Coaches leave before bowl games all the time and no one cares.
You really think he has poor character.... I'm sure he values your opinion over John F'in Elway. (You continue to ignore that aspect. Typical you... someone (or several people) show you facts and you run with your cockamamie story)

Re: Christian McCaffrey
But his dad is friends with an NFL GM... not like he once knew an NFL GM... they are actual honest to goodness friends. You don't think they made this decision with his input? Or does that not matter to you b/c a reporter said some Seahawks were mad about it??konjo78 wrote:Like i said he will be punished by nfl gms for this very selfish, anti-teammate move.
When he is drafted he will have 50 plus teammates to win over because football players disaprove of this move.
I agree nfl and high school seasons, especially high school, are too long. But im coming at this point of view of nfl scouts and gms with their reactions. Character flaws have dropped people much further than an acl injury!
Big ben and bell wont sit out vs browns and if they did it is because they have playoffs ahead. this is his last game with his teammates! the fact he puts me over we is a huge character flaw

Re: Christian McCaffrey
Just look at last year, Jaylon Smith, LB from Notre Dame, projected top 5 pick. Tore his ACL and LCL in non-playoff bowl game, dropped to 2nd round. Likely contract went from 19 million to 4 million and still hasn't been able to see the field. Even Jerry Jones publicly expressed concerns that nerve damage from the injury may never allow Smith to play in the NFL. Now Smith has still said that he doesn't regret playing, but cannot blame others for seeing this and choosing not to play in bowl games that don't matter.
