Twenty years is a long time to be on a deathbed.   8-|

But on a serious note, why not reduce the number of weight classes down to 12 or 10?

Maybe a little less gamesmanship from coaches on manipulating lineups to take forfeits as opposed to having 2 kids wrestle each other would be helpful?

I'm not sure about CT but Portage has not had a competitive wrestling team since the mid 80's....Do they still have a co-op with BC?

The point was that it's happened other places this year too, whether it be to small roster sizes, or injuries, or posturing, or whatever. It was to support the idea that tri, quad meets could be a good idea. Why waste money for 45 minute Jr High/Varsity duals when you could have more heavily participated events.

Portage does not co-op with any other school for wrestling.  I believe they do co-op with BC in soccer however.

A few years ago, the Kepharts attended either or both schools. = a co-op. Is such an arrangement only year-to-year?
It ain't over until it's over.

Co-ops are often for 2 years, as the PIAA classifications run for 2 year cycles.
This was illustrated for the 2015-2016 wrestling season, as it was rumored that Westmont Hilltop would not let Bishop McCort out of their 2 year co-op agreement.
A D6 Wrestling Coop list for this year that I saw:
Williamsburg > Central
Bucktail > Central Mountain
Harmony > Glendale
Bishop Guilfoyle > Hollidaysburg
East Juniata > Juniata
Penns Manor > Marion Center
Our Lady of Victory > Penns Valley
Grace Prep > St Joseph's
2 Other notes
Cambria Heights Middle School > Northern Cambria...I wonder if this will lead to eventually high school coop?
Ferndale > Westmont Hilltop is NOT shown, this has been in existence for a long time.  Perhaps no Ferndale students interested?

On the D5 side:

Current:
Shade > North Star
Windber > Conemaugh Township

I believe former coops with unknown status now:

Shanksville > Berlin
Rockwood > Berlin
Salisbury > Meyersdale
Southern Fulton > Everett
Forbes Road > Southern Huntingdon in D6
