I did not allow my son to play youth football. He started when he was in 8th grade. Played the remaining of his school years. Not playing youth FB didn't hurt him one bit. Maybe your son will decide later to play.
My grandson also wasn't allowed to play. He began playing for the Jr High in 7th grade and started both ways. He did play flag football in a league in another county for two years. Loved it.

My oldest son, going into sixth grade. is starting his 3rd year of tackle and he loves it. It has helped him mature and learn how to handle the hard knocks of life and go on from there. I was shocked when he decided to sign up in 4th grade, but it has worked out so far. I know one reason why is that we have a fabulous coaching staff that works with the kids. Lucky for him he has had the same head coach in all 3 years because his son is in the same class as mine. I would step in and overrule my son;s decision to play if I did not trust the coaches. Fortunately that is not the case here.

Sad what's happened at that youth camp at Laurel Run Park. Associated with Steel Valley from Homestead.
It ain't over until it's over.

Yeah. I just saw it on TV tonight. So it is WPIAL area school league that comes to a Somerset state park for their football camp? Real sad for the kids.
