CC has 2 wins in the last three years. Both victories were against BC a winless team in the same time frame. Any records established during that time frame should clearly have an asterisk. That is just common sense.

Common sense minus the fact they were 5-5 3 years ago and 3-7 2 years agocommonsense wrote:CC has 2 wins in the last three years. Both victories were against BC a winless team in the same time frame. The 3 years were including this current year and not the 5-5 2014 team. You are correct there were 2 other victories in 2015. My mistake. Making the 3 year record 2015-2017 a combined 4 wins 18 losses. With 2 of those wins against a team that is winless. My original point still rings true.

Your point being what? So because a team is 1-9, being a 1000 yard passer is insignificant? Or having a 400 yard passing game? Dan Marino never won a super bowl, should we put an asterisk next to his stats?
Re: Interesting number crunching
I agree the last 2 years many of the games have been over by halftime. In many of those games the opposing teams JV played most of the second half. What good are stats if your losing.
Re: Interesting number crunching
Here's a stat the CC offense didnt score a 1st qt TD all last year.

Re: Interesting number crunching
My point is simple. When you pass 40 times a game it makes it alot easier to have gaudy stats. Both as a receiver and as the QB. When ,as KMR said, so many games have been against the opponents JV because of early blow outs. When you learn that last season they were unable to score a first quarter TD against obviously the opponents first team. Stats are merely numbers and they must be taken in context. If Dan Marino had a 18% win percentage I would feel the same about his career as well. CC is clearly more competitive this year and I wish them well.

I guess I see the point. But I don't recall our Varsity playing anyone's JV, even in blowouts. Most teams leave the foot on the gas until its continuous clock.
