oh gunner if you only saw the practices where they worked on handoffs...it was HE double hockey sticks. they ran and ran and ran and if any of them dropped the baton or screwed up the handoffs in any way, either coach marshall or mr. coach creps was on them like flies on a horses patoot.... watching from the polevault pit you could hear everyword that was screamed where the third leg was handed off, it was quite comicalGunner18 wrote:i know for the bedford boys, the 4X100 was always the most dreaded event. as the coaches right hand man, i can verify that it was his least favorite 42 seconds of the entire meet! i really dont think they practiced much at all, tho i do recall them having to carry a baton at school one day for the entire day w/ out letting it hit the ground or desk or anything. but when they did get their handoffs right in a meet, then watch out, i think they were undefeated (except states, where they placed) the only time they lost was because of a bad handoff
The Flyers are just like the Titanic. They both look good until they hit the ice

the advantages of being a polevaulter eh walter? haha. but being mr. coach creps' confidante, i know he shuddered at the mere mention of a 4X1, ive never seen someone so happy when the baton made it from one hand to another....good thing i didnt waste my time with french class...he tought me all the french ill ever need

whomever made the remark that katie koenig was the only good individual athlete from ridge is mistaken. Maybe you forget tracie clair. Who won 7 state medals, one in 10th grade, 4 in 11th grade and 2 in 12th grade.
10th-3rd in the long jump
11th-5th in long jump, 5th in triple jump, 7th in 200m, and 7th in the 400m
12th-2nd in long jump, 2nd in triple jump. She only lost the triple jump by 1/2 of an inch.
If you ask me that is pretty impressive, so i beg to differ, but katie koenig is not the only track athlete to come from ridge. She's good, but she never posted those type of numbers. Katie actually competed w/ tracie, but never beat her.
