Re: Going back
Thanks Red and Black. That was helpful.
So only 2 teams from D6 AA went that year. I thought that was the case. I remember Forest Hills, Mount Union, and United were all top 10 PIAA teams. That stunk for United to not even get a chance. Complete opposite of the amount of teams that make it today!

The Brandon Bailey-led Rangers lost in the Western Final to Aliquippa, led by Ty Law, 12-6 @ Seneca Valley HS.TheAnalyst wrote:Back then, including 1992, the District 5 champ played the District 6 champ. So there may only have been 1 or 2 rounds of games at the district level. In 1991, a 6-6 Bedford team played an undefeated Forest Hills in a close game. FH went to the final 4 I believe. In 1992, Bedford beat Forest Hills and then Bedford lost to Fairview in the quarterfinals to finish 11-2.
In 1988 Bedford was 11-1 and 1989 11-0 and didn't qualify for playoffs either year.
It ain't over until it's over.
