Numbers again
Re: Numbers again
Birda: So you're saying that the U.S. Army fell 6,500 recruits short of their quota in a YEAR'S time because too many of the applicants were not eligible mentally, and couldn't pass the minimal standards to get in?

Came across this article a couple months ago. Helps to shed some light on the issue. https://www.military.com/daily-news/2018/04/21/goal-80000-recruits-year-wont-be-met-army-secretary-says.html/ampEl-Moldo wrote:Birda: So you're saying that the U.S. Army fell 6,500 recruits short of their quota in a YEAR'S time because too many of the applicants were not eligible mentally, and couldn't pass the minimal standards to get in?
Re: Numbers again
Thanks. So with only 4% of the recruits in the low aptitude range, I wouldn't blame the decrease in recruiting on those who can't make minimal standards.

The bottom line is most smaller districts need to combine teams. It’s not safe for teams to only have 20 some kids on the team. Kids get hurt, quit or get sick on any given week. Times have changed. Schools should be more proactive in exploring better alternatives to field a team that’s more competitive and safer for the student athletes. You can argue reasons all you want. It is what it is
