Interesting Read

Post by SportsFan04 »

With scores that happen around here every week I found this to be interesting especially since they were on the other side of the fence two weeks prior. It's an unfortunate state of the union and one that makes me continue to wonder if being a coach is worth the aggravation.

LOL

The threat usually comes from the "not playing my kid."  Coaches these days:

1.  Dont run it up

2.  Play my kid

3.  Online Courses/Certifications

(It was Saturday, April 21 at Bellwood-Antis High School, and Hayes — despite his tenure — was in the midst of taking an eight-hour certification test, now required by the state of Pennsylvania for all coaches of all sports.) http://www.altoonamirror.com/sports/scholastic-sports/football/2018/05/hayes-leaves-a-giant-legacy-at-bellwood/

Always found it odd the Mirror mentioned the certification test twice in the article.
Thanks!

This story is bizarre. The score was lopsided, but not unusually so. The team seems to be middling and not some powerhouse chewing up everything in it's way. The opposing coach seemed ok with it. So either the coach is being less than forthright about something or there is an alterior motive by the admin.
