Re: Williamsburg
Tyrone and Juniata Valley are playing. Doesn't look like they are playing Tussey unless there's been a late minute change in the schedule.

Re: Williamsburg
The concern with Windber would be whether they are in it for the long haul. Its not easy being the smallest public school in a conference. And while they will be able to compete in most sports, most years, there will inevitably be some lean years and lopsided scores. Will they hang in when that happens? Bigger schools are somewhat safer additions.
Re: Williamsburg
Tussey plays Huntingdon. Juniata Valley plays Tyrone.
Northern Bedford and Tussey I think will both play Windber now. Southern Huntingdon plays Berlin and maybe Penns Manor now…??
Northern Bedford is playing Cambria Heights in place of Williamsburg.
Curwensville coming in caused some openings which allowed teams to play from ICC to Mountain League or Westpac. Williamsburg dropping now has teams playing more Westpac and Heritage opponents.
As these co-ops occur scheduling will be interesting. It does get tough as schools go up 2 classes in cases due to the physical nature of football.
Will this be the last shoe to drop before the season starts? I’m not sure.
Our first 4 are now- Southern Huntingdon, Cambria Heights, Bellwood, and Windber. Interesting matchups, crossovers, and tough schedules all around.

Re: Williamsburg
Spoke with one of Windber's assistant coaches yesterday about this, and he agrees they would be 'OK' for this and the next 2-3 years, but after that would probably be in a decline.Colonel Mustard wrote: August 2nd, 2021, 2:33 pmThe concern with Windber would be whether they are in it for the long haul. If Windber would have won the Shade sweepstakes, that would have helped.

Re: Williamsburg
I had mentioned someone last week that based on this decision Juniata valley just got better overnight because they are getting some nice athletes from williamsburg. However this person brought up the fact that coach musser will have to make some tough decisions because you have some young men that have been looking forward to this season and it's their shot it's their opportunity to get on the field as a starter and they can very well be hindered by the fact that a Williamsburg player has taken their spot. I am pretty certain that if I'm a parent and my son had an opportunity to start this year and he bided his time and in steps a young man from Williamsburg and takes his spot I don't know how I would react to that as a parent I don't think I'd react very well to it. Coach Musser is going to have to do a great job of balancing of the juniata valley kids and how the Williamsburg kids factor into potential starting spots. He's going to have to be a great salesman when he has to tell a young man from juniata valley and/or their parents that they're playing time has been affected by a young man from Williamsburg. I don't envy his job whatsoever this fall
Re: Williamsburg
Same thing applies for the Bishops. Carroll could be potentially sending 4 or 5 kids that will start ahead of BMCHS kids. Kids that have working parents who are PAYING for their kids to play and have been patiently going through their 'system' just to sit the bench.

The best players should play, regardless of where they live. I don't see what the issue is...footballfan1 wrote: August 5th, 2021, 10:00 pm I had mentioned someone last week that based on this decision Juniata valley just got better overnight because they are getting some nice athletes from williamsburg. Re: Williamsburg
BM kids have always faced this. Its not uncommon for a kid that has come up through the parochial system to be replaced by a transfer.Manfred wrote: August 6th, 2021, 8:58 am Same thing applies for the Bishops. Re: Williamsburg
Can any one confirm the rumor that BM will also be coop with BC in wrestling. If this is true , it would give Mccort access to a wide area of wrestlers
