Fact

Pitt has what Jim Boeheim (SU Coach) calls the best freshman in the country in Chris Taft. Taft is not ony a scoring threat, he has great courty vision and runs the break with the best of them. Taft is also a dominant rebounder. Also a fact, Jaron Brown is the mos underrated player in college Basketball--he consistently gets 10+ points and 8+ boards a game. Krauser could be one of the best points right now, let alone he's just a Sophomore. Pitt SHOULD make it to the Final Four.

Here is my shocker--another Big East team in the Final Four--no, not UConn--PROVIDENCE. PC is one of the most well-rounded teams in the nation, and Ryan Gomes is the nation's top player. McGrath is a great ballhandler. PC will surprise everyone--mark my words. Providence has the talent to be a national champion. (Remember last year's team who was given little respect, but had one big name player and a good ballhandler--they were Syracuse, and they won the title.)

A Pitt - UConn final would be SWEEET, but everything that leads up to that depends on what section they are seeded into.

There are at least 6 or 7 teams that can make it to the NCAA tourney but only Pitt or Uconn have the players to get them to the final four

Do you mean 6-7 teams from the Big East that will make it... if so I'd like to hear them.

Fiction, I agree with Whiteshoes on this one. Pitt is a tough team but I agree that free throw shooting will kill them. Uconn has as much talent as anyone but they seem too streaky to get to the final four. If they would put it together they would be pretty hard to stop.

I love Pitt but they can't make it to the final four. They just don't have enough fire power as the some of the big time teams.

Julius Page, Jaron Brown, Carl Krauser, Chris Taft, and Chevon Troutman. Although you may not know all 5, they work well as a team. FT% is below where it should be, but Pitt makes up for it with its defense.

I agree they play good D, but you have to have both FT shooting and tough D to get that far. Although the big east is a pretty good conference i'd much rather pick a team from the ACC because it's almost a hard game every night out for those teams. Look at UNC they are 17th in the nation and they are 7th in their conference. They might not have the record that Pitt does but they have been tested alot more this year and that is important come tourney time.
