Week 1 conversation
Re: Week 1 conversation
Johnstown losing streak continued for at least 1 more week, but FH's pass defense was lucky about a half dozen passes were overthrown. They scored just at the final horn. Trojans will win a couple games this season. They could've pulled an upset last nt. Sorry Ranger Nation, thats what I saw.LeeCorso wrote: August 23rd, 2024, 10:58 pm Are Bellefonte and Bellwood better than expected?
Manfred what happened with Jtown? Are they better or did they score some late at the end?
Any other week one surprises?
It ain't over until it's over.

McCort/Carroll’s line is very very good and their QB/RB combo are as well but didn’t finish last night due to injury. They don’t have much depth but they will be a tough team to deal with this season if they stay healthy l, much better than last year’s team.
It also begs the question, how long will D6 allow 2 private schools to co-op if they make a playoff run

Tyrone doesn't have size on the line this year. They got wore down by the 2nd half against the bigger Clearfield line. 2 lost fumbles in the 1st quarter and a touchdown called back in the 2nd quarter. 3rd quarter got a stop on 4th down up by 7 couldn't score. That's when everything fell apart. 4th quarter kids started cramping and the route was on.EnzoLigoniere wrote: August 24th, 2024, 10:06 am Where are the Tyrone fans? Interested in how that game played out?

The difference in the Clearfield-Tyrone game wasn’t cramping. The best player on the field was wearing a Bison uniform. The Collins kid had 6 touchdowns, a flat route he took 60 yards to the house, an 80 yard TD run, a pick six he caught on the run five yards away from Walk and never had to break stride on the forty yard return. The Walk kid is a really good HS qb. He made a throw in the second half in the deep sideline hole against cover 2 that you just don’t see high school kids make. I hope his team grows around him, because he is a stud.

I never said the difference was cramping. The Collins kid was the best player. I clearly stated after Tyrone couldn't score in the 3rd quarter it all fell apart. Also said the clearfield line wore them down for all the big gains. The cramping happened in the 4th when the game had already slipped away. I never took anything away from Clearfield. That's probably the best line Tyrone will play all year.GhostofBigWhistle wrote: August 24th, 2024, 3:13 pm The difference in the Clearfield-Tyrone game wasn’t cramping. I actually never noticed wide-spread cramping on Tyrone. I saw the one kid go down and get right up and don’t recall it even warranting an injury stoppage. The Collins kid cramped up and had a stoppage deep on the scoreboard side late in the game. But he came back for two more big runs.
I’m impressed with the Walk kid, again. He might be a better QB than Nagle at BEA. That is a MIGHT. Walk’s issue is the surrounding cast didn’t help him much. I also felt Tyrone kinda quit late in that game. Which was very odd to see.

I thought they quit too. Looked like it to me anyway. Collins is a beast. Tyrone’s tackling helped even more hahaGhostofBigWhistle wrote: August 24th, 2024, 5:38 pmGoldeneagles12 wrote: August 24th, 2024, 4:55 pmI never said the difference was cramping. I was impressed with some of Walks throws.
The play after the td being called back where he rolled right and hit #4 at midfield on the far left hash made my jaw drop. Overall disappointing 2nd half by home team.

This comment is getting saved for BM/BC one win this year. Very very good, lol

Walk can definitely throw the ball. It shows how good he is that he has the numbers he has with some not so good lines since he has been qb. The kid is constantly running for his life.Elderlyeagle wrote: August 24th, 2024, 9:46 pmI thought they quit too. Looked like it to me anyway. Collins is a beast. Interesting comment from someone who hasn’t and won’t see them play this year.EnzoLigoniere wrote: August 24th, 2024, 10:30 pmCCDevil2012 wrote: August 24th, 2024, 11:38 am McCort/Carroll’s line is very very good and their QB/RB combo are as well but didn’t finish last night due to injury. McCort will win 5+ games this year just looking at their schedule. Their line averages over 6’ and around 260lbs. But I can see them beating Ridge, Somerset, Bellefonte, Johnstown, and Westmont
