Thats sweet, but dont count out the young guys yet. Dont forget its a long season and those quality players we have on the team make great trade bait once the buccos done get close to 500 again. But im crossing my fingers for a winning season.

JJ won't make the roster with that signing. Too much money going to the vets to keep him. He is out of options so he can't go back to Nashville. He will be cut after spring training I think, he will only stay that long in case of injuries.

Why cant he go back to nashville?? If there keeping people like Rob Mackoviak, why cant they keep him? There was another guy who played outfield with Mac. and he always seemed to strike out. I just dont remeber his name

He is out of minor league options this year, meaning he can't be sent back down. When you sign a ML contract there are a certain number of times you can be sent from the ML level back to the minors and JJ can't go back. It's either the big team or no team.

I say the Bucs should get rid of one of the waste of money vets and keep the youth.

Ya. I think the buccos do need to dump some of the people that dont need to be on the team. Like Kendall is a big name that comes to mind, and maybe even Craig Wilson..although hes not that bad of a player. By adding that good veteran talent, it should make the team better. Could we have playoffs this year??

The Arod stuff won't have anything to do with the Pirates' signings. They won't even make sportscenter. I love the Pirates but they aren't going anywhere this year so it doesn't matter to non bucco fans.

ps. Check out http://www.onlybucs.net for GREAT Pirate coverage. They have a fan forum with some very good posters!

Pathetic

Pirates' current team doesn't even belong in the MLB. Pirates have a group of guys that are over the hill, aka Jose Mesa, and the rest are babies that still need their momma's breast to suck on. THEY ARE A FARM TEAM. Maybe in five years they will belong, but until then, they are gonna give other team's guaranteed wins.
