Huge D6-AA Upset

Post by Sports999 »

12 seed Cambria Heights(7-17 record) took down the 5 seed Bishop McCort Crushers tonight in convincing fashion, by around 15-18. The officials were questionable but BM just kept egging them on with smart comments and showing them up while CH was class all the way. 3 technicals(all deserved IMO) for McCort and a HUGE alley-oop dunk to Ben Vescovi spelled the end for BM. Ben Vescovi had about 24 while his brother Dom went for about 20 in the win. I called CH as a big sleeper in a previous post and Blairsville better come witht their "A" game if they expect to win. Ben Vescovi is about 6'8'' and knocked down 4-5 3' tonight while scoring on Jose Cruz inside at will. His brother Dom is about 6'5'' but plays much bigger than Ben. If Blairsville doesn't come ready to play, the Highlanders will be sniffing the title game.

They are actually a good team if the 2 Vescovies play like they are capable. They took CC to OT up at their place, but CC beat them by 25 at home, you never know which will show up. But mark my words, Blairsville will have no easy time with 2 kids over 6'5'' and another around 6'3''.

Blairsville starters are:

Post by roaks »

6' Highberger PG--soph
5'8" Stone G--soph
5'10" DeMarines SG--soph
6'2" Wilk F ---sr.
6'4" Ostach F --fr
-------------------
subs:
6'3" Nadeo F--soph
6' Steeves G--sr.
5'10 Christopher--fr
-----------------------
6' Fritz G--fr
6'2 Carter --jr

The Bobcats try to keep Highberger on the floor at all times--other than when he's in foul trouble...

The other 4 starters rotate with the 1st 2 subs I listed---they basically play 7 guys with Christopher seeing time when the forwards are in foul trouble
-----------------------------------------------------
obviously CH has a distinct size advantage---

keys for the cats:
the 3-ball dropping,
stay outta foul trouble--esp. Highberger and ostach
score points in transition off of turnovers
don't give up TOO many easy baskets on the press
