I would like to know how Neese got seed #2 ahead of Anderson after only one match. He may deserve it, he may not, I'm not debating that. I just think it is a slap in the face to a kid that has proved himself all year.

there is a criterion that is followed that is listed at d6wrestling.com if you want to see how it officially occured. i know that might not soudn fair, but thats how the points total up. is it fair that brock and strayer will meet in the semis when they are probably the best at 125? no, but life goes on. if it went soley on outside factors such as "proving yourself all year," then seeding meeting would take days to do, as everyone would have a case to prove for every wrestler. dont worry about anderson, im sure hes not crying about it. they would still have to wrestle each other in the semis anyhow is they win out even if they were switched. its all about advancing to the next round, not where they seed you. if hes good enough, hell be at regionals, if not, at least it was proven on the mat

But Neese did not beat Anderson in points like 2 other wrestlers did Scott. He was placed there by the committee. 2 different situations, don't comapare them.

Did the coaches vote on what seed Neese was going to be or how is the process done?

from what i understand the coaches actually argued for Neese to be number 1 seed ahead of Tate b/c of Neese placing at states last year. personally i think that is completely absurd. Also once again the flaw of seeding points shows through with Brock Scott getting a 4 seed regardless of the fact that he is undefeated and has placed the past two years at states

so Swat, you've pointed out the problems...what are the solutions??? I've been through enough seeding meetings to know that if you want everything to be perfect, the meeting will never end....

Neese fell under the injury exception....it's happened before....what if Jake Strayer had been out all year, comes back right before districts, and his points place him 8th.....would you want to be that number one seed that gets him in the quarters???? coaches try to do the fair thing....Anderson is now third...it probably hurt McKrush more than Anderson....are you saying McKrush is better than Neese? of course, we'll again get to see how things work out...

Brock, unfortunately, just didn't get the opportunities to build points....but, he'll qualify for regionals and then go from there, if nothing else....he'll compete...that's what he's there to do, no matter what he's seeded....

The points may not be a perfect way, but I would say that in the years that the points have been used, usually the top five qualifiers tend to come from the top 8 seeds.....all things shake out as they will when wrestlers step on the mat...

Any way you want to look at it, some are always going to be happy and some are always going to complain....but, there will be great wrestling in Tyrone this weekend....
