I agree that coach best is a good coach, but not coach of the year. He's saying about getting respect back, they never lost it. Sure some of the years before he came the teams were under a .500 season but that wasn't because of the coaches they had. It was more because of the personnel those teams had. They didn't have players that wanted to be part of a team; they wanted it for themselves. That has what has been the problem for FM teams. Even while Best is coaching he still has trouble with players not being part of the team(two in particular) and for that reason he hasn't changed anything in the basketball program. There are still the same problems that have been going on for years.

Dear crdaniel,
May i ask one simple question can i get some of the good stuff you must be smoking to say that coaching was not the problem at Fannett Metal in years past...that must be grade A quality stuff...the problems at that school started when Jimmy B, no i didnt say Jimmy V, i said Jimmy B tried to coach that team...that program went from being a program that you at least knew you had to show up to play and most likely got a good competitive game out of...furthermore as far as players playing for themselves at F-M you must have been disappointed in yourself to make a comment like that...if you are who i think you are you should have been an animal with you athletic build but what did yyou average... not much because i dont remember..and i remember numbers like that from excellent players...furthermore i would like to salute Coach Best for bringing a rundown in the gutter program back to respectability...and he does it with class and integrity...something that program was lacking from his predecessor ...in closing before my sermon gets too long thanks coach for bringing respectability back to FM it takes more people like Best to make a program respectable

bdaddy the numbers i put up weren't great but you should know who else was on the team. the only times i could put up big numbers were the times when our point guard wasn't in the game(you should know who i'm talking about). You should know that he tried taking all kinds of crazy shots and didn't like feeding the ball. The two games that he didn't play i scored a total of 50 points, 25 rebounds, 5 steals, and 10 blocks. the numbers i averaged were 13 ppg, 9 rpg, 1.5 steals, and 4 blocks a game.

theres alot of good coaches ... i also think shubik for north star could be a coach of the year canidate, he's over 200 wins, he's one district 5 4 out of the last 5 years ...he's beatin teams that has been said that they didnt stand a chance against like down at tussey in the playoffs twice, at ct playoffs, last season they went in a the bottom seed, upset everyone and came out as # 1 by upsetting windber who has already beatin them twice that year ... he has good control of his team and gets them well prepared .... especially in the playoffs
