Pitt clinches regular season championship.

Post by tubmill »

It wasn't easy, nor was it pretty. However, the result was the same...Pitt clinched the Big East championship and the #1 seed in the Big East tournament by defeating a pesky Villanova squad by 14 points. Although it was senior day, it was actually a freshman who was the key to the Panther victory. What can you say about "Big Ticket" Chris Taft. The kid is amazing!

One downside to the contest was the fact that Toree Morris refused to go in at the end of the game. Hopefully we won't have a Donato Zavakas situation again. I hope not, as Toree has been an intregal part of this senior class's success....leading this team to the upper echelon of the NCAA.

co-championship as of 4pm tomorrow....and if pitt scores 17 pts in the first half against uconn, or any other good team they will face in the future, they wont have a chance in the second half. im still waiting to see somebody on their team beside krauser to hit an open jump shot.

It's 4:00 PM. Pitt is the Regular Season Champion. The #1 preseason team in the country finished second. UConn received all of the hype never lived up to it. They just seem out of synch most of the time!

I think a lot of people are going to be very surprised when Page gets back into his normal rhythm. Krauser is a good outside shooter. If Pitt can pull out a win against any one with 17 points in the first half, then that shows how truly talented they are on defense. Just imagine if their offense picks up in the tourney like I know it will. Ohh baby!

Im sorry but scoring 17 points in the first half will not get it done, not at all. Even if your defense is outstanding it wont matter against a good team that has more than one talented kid on thier side. Play a 2-3 zone against Pitt just like 'cuse did and bye bye Pitt offense. Congrats on winning the Weak East. Happy 2nd round loss.

It got it done yesterday. I agree it won't get it done in the Big East tournament or the big dance. A 2nd round loss.....haha get real ham. I thought you actually knew something. Either you are really against Pitt or you don't know a thing about college basketball. Pitt will be in the Sweet 16 with ease.

Im willing to bet that Pitt wont make it out of the first weekend of the tourney. And if they do they will not walk through to the sweet 16 unphased. I do know my college basketball, and from what ive seen this year, Pitt sucks, their conference sucks, and they will continue to do so for the rest of the year.

Wow, I can't believe you just said the whole Big East Conference sucks. They will have at least 5 teams in the tournament. Just so you remember there ham that they had the NATIONAL CHAMPION LAST YEAR. Maybe you forgot that. Be prepared to be shocked when Pitt goes to the sweet 16 unphased.

Who will be the 5 that make the tourney? Pitt will not go to the sweet 16, i hope to God that they are put in a bracket where they face an ACC team in the first few rounds. If they make it that far. Virginia could put down Pitt very easily and they probably wont make the NIT. Arguing wont make this go away, we both have strong and weak points. But i kno i will be right in the end because Pitt is terrible. they did a stat on SportsCenter the other day with the top conferences in the nation, im pretty sure that the Weak East wasn't even in the top 5.

at least its not that PAC-10. LOL.

Big East

Post by Boilerman »

Big East is probably going to get six teams in the tournament this year. Pitt, UConn, Syracuse, Providence, BC, and Seton Hall.
