that's right TMfan, you never touch the lines weather it is coming off or going onto the field and as for me i always have to have a whole mouth full of sunflower seeds. for me i guess it reminds me to stay focused, hearing the chunching sound of the seed that brings me back to reality so i don't dose off on the field.
every 4 pitches i take my hand out of my glove when im pitching, lift the bill of my hat, wipe my forehead, put the glove back on, and toe the rubber. I always jump over the line leading with my left foot. I put in a mouth full of seeds in after coming off the field and spit them all out when i go to hit or back out onto the field. While batting I always sorta like golf swing till the pitcher starts his windup or sets from the stretch. Baseball routines are great and they always vary from player to player.

Back in the good days I would always jog to go onto the field and walk off, would let the ball at the plate after our pitcher struck out the side, shook hands with the umpire behind the plate after each game, always chewed one piece of gum provided by Wanda, Nelson's mom, I would wear my equipment (except my facemask) for our post-game jog, and would always go out to the mound at the beginning of the inning to talk to the pitcher.
DELORIS!!!! "Jerry Seinfeld"
i only have a few superstitions that i can think of...contrary to most people, i always ignore the foul line when i walk out to the field, like it really matters if you step on the line or not...i never mess with sunflower seeds during a game, makes me too thirsty...i always walk back to the mound on the first base side or strait back, never on the third base side...i think that pretty much covers it...

At Northern the infield always go to the pitcher's month after they warm up for each inning and as they do that the outfield turns their backs to them and walks into position. I'm not sure why we do it but it seems to always happen.
