NCAA Tournament Seedings
I disagree that UCONN has an "easy" road to the Elite 8. Austin told us about how good they are when all of their players are on their 'A' game. I'll go as far to say that they have the easiest road of all the #2 seeds but just because they don't play any huge named teams doesn't mean their road is easy.
I'd say they have an easy trip to the sweet 16. They'll beat Vermont and the Dayton/DePaul winner.
I do however think W. Mich. will will beat vanderbilt and hand NC St a loss. NC St. doesn't play well on the road. This is where UCONN's tourn. ends. If Vanderbilt beats W. Mich. they have proven they can win against tough teams after handing Miss. St. a loss. NC St., should they prove me wrong and make it this far, has proven they can win big games...more than once (Duke, Wake 2 times, Ga Tech 2 times).
I just don't see how you can say UCONN has an 'easy' road to the Elite 8?

I don't think Pitt will make it past the sweet 16, nor do I like Pitt basketball but I'll give credit where credit is due.
Ham, the D in Duke stands for.....Duke. Mayyyyyybe even Durham...not defense.
You said Duke was the founder of the solid man-to-man. Well if that's true maybe they should take some notes off Pitt.
Duke allowed 64.7 ppg.
Pitt allowed 56.6 ppg.
Does Duke play a tougher schedule? Yes. Doesn't change anything. Pitt has one of, if not the best, defenses in the nation.
And i've seen Duke in a zone more than one time so they must not be playing that 'solid man-to-man' all the time.

I would like to see Duke do well but if they don't get it together they won't be going far. When they are all on their game, best team in the nation. But Reddick is in a slump, they have been giving up too many points.
They could potentially struggle from the 2nd round on.

I wasn't just talking this year, or last year, but in all years past, Duke has had one of the toughest defenses ever. Sure Pitt's D is better, i never said it once that thier D wasnt better or even the best. Its just that their offense is terrible.
Oneandonly, i made references last week before the seedings were out that Pitt would not make out of the first weekend.

I first stated that Pitt would not make it out of the 2nd round way back on Feb 24th... go check the "Pitt holds on against lowly Hoyas" ....

i feel like woody paige, always having to straighten u guys out....
u can check the oneandonly's post history ham. i remember him saying this in like january. but it doesnt really mean anything b/c
A, it hasnt happened yet
B, saying that somebody will be knocked out before whenever is cool, but really you are just saying that based on almost nothing. i call duke getting knocked out in the first round. there are slim chances that happen but if it does happen, im a genius.
C, u guys are saying this outta the pure hatred for pitt basketball which i share. i hate them as much as i hate duke, maybe more. i do have some respect for them tho because i have seen them beat my team more than once in the past cpl yrs. they are not to the level yet where they should even be compared to the upper-echelon teams b/c they have done nothing in the big dance, ever.
vanderbelt and nc state have had some poor games recently. i see w. michigan meeting my huskies in the sweet 16. the most dangerous opponent uconn will face before stanford/syracuse/maryland is depaul. their head coach used to be w/ uconn and knows the team very well. im not saying they will lose (never happen) but they will get a tuff game.

ncaa tourney seedings
for the record i would like to state the purpose of this topic that this topic has really nothing to do with around the horn but the ncca tourney seedings and i bet coach would agree with me on my assumption on the other hand about the seedings there is no way that saint joseph will make it farther than the second round because they will pro have to play one of the great coaches of all time mr. bob knight and his texas tech raiders in the round of 32. Pitt is going to be the only team from the big east to go to the final four and uconn wont make it because if emkea and charlie are injured their season is done. pitt got a 3rd seed thats not right at all heck they had a very impressive record for 1st year coach jamie dixon enuff said.

You cant say that we have based it on nothing, from what i ve seen Pitt hasnt done anything in the tourney ever and for having 29 or whatever wins this season still havent done that much, it shows what the people in the NCAA think of their team by giving them a 3 seed. And the pollsters all year never gave them any props, simply because they didnt deserve them. Yes the have a great defense, Yes they have absolutely no offense, Yes they will lose to a very tough Wisconsin team that definately got no love this season in the bracketing. Wisconsin is always a sleeper team and since they are in a very weak basketball conference recieve no love at all. being seeded 6th after going into the big 10 tourney ranked 10th in the nation and winning it (beating a good Illinios team, who BTW got a 5 seed) recieved nothing at all for it. Besides the luxury of beating Pitt in the second round in Wisconsin.
