Katie works hard to be a 3 star athlete didnt but i still dont agree with her being brought up to varisty softball her freshman year. I think she needed to go through what the rest of us went through. I never agreed w/ that in any sport. Those athletes need to do there time in Junior High, it teaches you a lot!

The only thing I ever learned in Jr. High was how to find humor in losing nearly every game.
What is the harm in bringing a freshman to the varsity level? If she can earn a starting position, I believe she deserves to be there. If not, she'll likely improve by playing with the talented and experienced athletes around her.

I dont know, I think I have to agree w/ CuteSoftballChick on this one. A friend of mine played jr. high basketball in 9th grade when other freshmen were being moved up. She became much more successful at the varsity level when she was old enough to move up then the ones who moved up early. She's even a starter now, while the ones who moved up a year early are riding the pine. I think the extra playing time she received in jr. high was more beneficial in the long run than those few minutes the other freshmen received playing in the varsity games.

There's no need to form a mob and revolt...
I was only trying to say that I played varsity my freshman year, and I gained so much more skill and experience than I ever would have in junior high. I was glad that I was given that option... otherwise I would have just been "going through the motions" for yet another year.
If she wasn't going to get any playing time in varsity, I could understand your concern. Junior high probably would be the best option then. However, if she was going to get a fair amount of playing time, varsity definitely couldn't hurt-- she'd be playing with more experienced players and playing against tougher competition.
I don't know...maybe I'm partial. I still say you should give the kid a chance...

Its nothing against katie herself i grew up with the girl! Love her to death i just feel that if i went through all the crap in junior high then so should everyone else! Also that takes one spot away from an upperclassman that worked there butts off to play and then some freshman takes it. That isnt right! They need to work there way up no matter how good they are.

this isnt rec. ball...to play you have to be the best...if someone else is better than you they should play. It's the coaches job to field the best nine players every game, not to make parents happy!
The Flyers are just like the Titanic. They both look good until they hit the ice
