True, all cars regardless of your preferred type of racing, only go as good as the crews and crewchiefs prepare them, but how many Nascar teams are running 7,000 horsepower and have to usually tear down and rebuild the entire motor 4 times on raceday and do it within the allotted 75 minutes between rounds? Don't even forget that the driver DOES have to steer the car to keep it in 'the groove' for best traction, and if it should break the tires loose, he has to correct by either riding the hand brake or pedalling the throttle. Or how he has to react to prevent a wheelstand from turning into a flip-over! Nascar on raceday has, what 40 some cars? NHRA has 16 car qualifiers in at least a dozen classes. Can you get into the pits with a general admission ticket and get within feet of your heroes? In NHRA you can! In the Pro Stock class, you can have all 16 qualifiers within a couple hundredths of a second of each other! How close is the pack in NASCAR? NHRA has interruptions for breakage and oil-downs. Nascar has caution flags for wrecks. Nascar runs on 104 racing fuel, NHRA runs on Nitro and Alcohol. How many hot babes run Nascar? NHRA has Angelle Savoie, Rhonda Hartman-Smith, Melanie Troxell-Johnson, Karen Stouffer, Ashley Force, and others less known, not to mention many of the racer's wives and girlfriends that serve to guide the cars after their burnouts. Many more reasons to be for NHRA, but the best one, I guess, is the proof. I have personally taken my 2 brothers and their wives, and several friends, who were all NASCAR FREAKS, all mainly because of "THE INTIMIDATOR", and once they got a taste of NHRA, they always want to come back for more! You really owe it to yourself to check out the NHRA tour stop @ Maple Grove in Reading, Pa., it's always 2 weeks after Labor Day.
