according to the espn insider rpi rankings, st joes had the no.1 nonconference SOS while mich st. had the no.7. i think that m. state played more marquee match ups against like 5 or 6 top 20 teams early on and then didnt play anybody else decent. st joes overall may not have had the big match ups against the top programs but played a lot of quality teams.
quantity of quality.

2005 BIG TEN CHAMPIONS
2005 BIG TEN CHAMPIONS
the big difference was that michigan state couldnt get the job done this year. they should be back next year with a vegence.

yeah but st. joe's played Boston College, California, Pacific, Deleware, and Villanova before those teams were hot. the only reason they had the toughest SOS is because those teams got hot late in the season.
