i would say that claysburg surprised some people.
the ridge infield has done well so far, and surprised many. almost all of the 'backups' are very close to having starting spots. chad manges has an excellent glove, as he showed against fannett metal. the other side of the infield is showing more range than expected, and will definitely be put to the test tonight. BG has always been a good team, and ridge almost beat them last year. with 7 of the 9 starters back, it should be a very close game and an excellent season for ridge. bedford, ridge, and BG are very close.

tonite will be a great matchup for the lions. bg has always brought fourth good teams with alot of excellent pitchers. im in class with hauer right now who is to start for us, at the moment he isnt feeling completely 100 percent so berg might have to take the mound for us if hauer aint up to it. the ridge defense will definately be tested tonite, especially in the outfield with tomovich, herncane, and spiker starting. chad manges at third will definately need to be at the top of his tonite in fishertown. well i guess we will see what happens. let the lion tradition live on

I actually did manage to find some time in between two things I had to do that night to go to the CR/BG game. It was a well-played game. The Ridge Lions were especially aggressive on offense with a beautiful homerun by Tomovich and an excellent triple by Saxman. CR really impressed me. Though I am not trying to talk them up as if they are the absolute best; they still have quite awhile til the season is over. Keep it up guys! :cheesy:
BG didn't seem too bad but had a few let downs in the beginning which just led to some more mistakes. The one mistake I just can't get out of my head was made by the 2nd baseman who went to get a ground ball right to him and didn't put his glove down to the ground.....the ball rolled right under his glove and to the outfield; a very poor mishap. :frown: But hey, everyone makes mistakes. Best of luck to you BG guys!

Claysburg did beat us, but we weren't at the top of our games, we had a good bit of errors, but I still think that NB's junior high team is the team to beat...and I think that you are wrong about Claysburgs team...the pitching is what did them good against us and their infield was their problem...
