Worst teams of all time!

Post by fleaflicker »

This is to highlight the worst teams of any sport, at either the college or professional level. I am going to induct Rutgers football, St. Francis football, Penn State (men's) basketball, and Duke football into this discussion for the worst teams of all time. Who else is worthy of induction?

PSU BB shouldn't be on that list... a few short years ago they were in the Sweet 16. They've had a few bad seasons recently but have made it just as far as Pitt in the NCAA's :cheesy:!

That Sweet Sixteen finish by Penn State was the exception not the norm. In fact an appearance by the Lions in the Big Dance is a rarity. Penn state basketball has usually been pitiful. Pitt played in the 1941 Final 4. They also lost in the East region finals to eventual champion NC State in 1973. Pitt has been in the NCAA tournament many times!

Holy Cross was the national champ in 1947, the City College of New York won a few national titles, San Francisco won in 1955. So all of those colleges should be seen as powers in college basketball?

And you know alot less than I thought about NCAA B-ball because Pitt was in the cellar for quite a few years there in the Big East. Penn State was in the tourney a few times in the 90s and made that sweet 16 run aswell.

I'll go with the Arizona Cardinals. And I'll go with the Pittsburgh Steelers in the years before 1970.

'03 Tigers Yeah, I'm gonna have to go with the Tigers of last year, they did really really bad.....I think a Triple A team could have had more wins than they did last year......maybe one of them did...but the 03 Tigers had to be one of the worst teams....

'03/'04 PSU and Notre Dame It was a horrible year for both of them...I'm guessing that ND will be getting a new coach soon, just because they always do......and I look to see JoePa staying at PSU making the team worse as the years go by.....

Swindon FC....they are annually near the bottom of the English 3rd division (in england, the premier league is the highest level, followed by 1st, then 2nd, then 3rd divisions. the bottom 3 teams at the end of the season from the premier league, 1st and 2nd divisions gets relegated to the level below them, the top 3 teams at the end of the season from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd divisions gets promoted to the level above them....swindon is basically the worst professional soccer team in all of england)

Notre Dame and Penn State as worst teams ever?

Penn State is a great team like Notre Dame just because of one bad year, does not make them the worst team ever, in college football the Rutgers are pretty bad along with Duke as someone stated earlier. The worst football team ever would have to be the Buccaneers in the old orange jerseys, they sucked.
