Ok, clarify that, a first round draft pick. But one thing that I would love to see this draft is to see the Steelers use their number 11 pick to get a good fast cornerback like DeAngelo Hall, or pick up Chris Gamble with their second round draft pick if he's still around. At 6'1", he is the tallest corner in the draft, and he has a lot of speed. He could also possibly be put in at wide out as well, and would be a great special teamer. However, I think I'd take a corner in the first, then take a quarterback in the second round. The Steelers, more than anything, need a shutdown corner asap, or they will be sol.

i will go along w/ that. if d'angelo hall is there at the steelers pick, i think they should take him. then in the second round either trade up for lohsman or hold off and take matt schaub of virginia. there are also some good corners that would be available in the second or third rounds if the steelers take a qb in the first. i dont think that any of those guys wold be able to step in and shut down guys right away like i think d'angelo hall can.

Manning will be the first qb, Roy Williams the first receiver, and Stephen Jackson the first tailback. I think that shawn taylor and Kellen Winslow will be Pro Bowlers in their first years. Shawn Taylor is way ahead of Ed Reed when Reed came out of Miami. I know the Steelers dont want a Safety but Taylor would be an awesome addition to that secondary, he can play corner as well, run back punts, an instant super star. As far as steals day 2 will be Losman, Lee Evans, Probally Woods from Ok State, Quincy Wilson, and Grant Wiley who is moving up draft boards with his 4.6 he ran at a private workout with the Eagles.

Ps no doubt Manning is the Best qb, but Rivers and Rothesberger (not trying to spell) played in the Mac so be cautious. Josh Harris will be a pro bowler when its all said and done, he played in the MAC as well, but such a pure athlete, he could play receiver or tailback with his 4.3 speed 6'2 frame and thick for a qb. Whoever gets him day 2 will be getting a steal.

The supplemental draft works like this. A pool of players are placed in the draft that apply for it. Then, in the same order as the regular draft, teams are on the clock, starting in Round 1. If a team passes on the players, it goes to the next team, and so on.

Teams will rate these players as to which round they think the player fits. So, if they think a player is a 3rd rounder, they won't take him in the 2nd unless they feel another team will.

It's a gamble, just like the regular draft. Say a team drafts a player in the 3rd round, they then give up their 3rd round pick in the next draft. But if they really want that guy, he might not get passed the 1st round. The problem is, teams are given a rooke pool amount in which they can sign their rookies. Most teams have that amount used up or slated for regular picks, and even though they might want a guy in the 1st round of the supplemental, they can't do it. It's all a part of the chess game.

Clarett and Williams have to do something, my guess is that they will be in the draft sunday. They have agents so they have forfited their rights as amatures therefor they cant return to school. However, if the NCAA lets Williams go back to USC they are opening a can of worms. The supplemental draft is a draft that is held after the draft before the season starts i thinkwith teams picking based on where they finish, usually its not a good pool of players. Usually its JUCOs and such only 3 rounds i believe too. A few years ago the Giants took Dave Brown, first overall and now he is pumping gas.

two things palerider.

i would expect woods, lohsman and all your other sleepers will be taken in the second round. i dont know if you just miss typed or were confused, but that is how mel kiper has it.

also philip rivers played at nc state. nc state is part of the sec not the mac. rivers is a proven guy who was the hero of that program for the past several years. the thing about rivers is his throwing motion, but i think he should one day be an excellent pro qb.

i think the safest picks this year are sean taylor, robert gallery, and kellen winslow. i think all these guys will be pro bowlers next year.

Rivers completed 72% of his passes last year... not to shabby.

Anything Mel Kiper says is as good as it gets... the man is a pure draft genius.. he never misses more then a few each and every year.

mel is gonna have a tough time this year i think. there will be a lot of trades in the top ten that could shake some things up.

Rivers played for NC State and he is not in either the SEC or MAC but the ACC!! He is a good QB which will be takin in the draft but not the first QB because that is going to be Manning!!
