Best Soccer Announcers

I watch a fair amount of soccer, but to be honest I never pay attention to the names of the announcers and analysts, though there are people I like better than others. For you diehards out there, who are among the better announcers/analysts we might encounter on American TV? Also, have they decided yet who's going to do the Olympics?

i dont watch much american soccer...make that i dont watch it period! but i bleed Manchester United (england) and Fox Sports World has some really good announcers that know exactly what they are talking about, they just give out stat after stat about the two teams playing and about the players of each team, its quite incredible.

now if u really want an experience, take a spanish (or portugese) class and tune in to our neighbors south of the border (mexico or south america), all i can say is GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! haha, now those guys get into it!

Wish they'd import some of these guys for MLS or the Olympics.

BBC or Fox Sports World will probly broadcast a few olympic games using their announcers. and i know FSW has done a few MLS games with their guys, but being a diehard european soccer man, i just cant bare to watch american soccer, the talent and passion is no where close to what it is across the pond.

how can you watch soccer at all? its sooooo boring. kick it here, kick it there, out of bounds. somebody gets bumped adn they lay on the ground for an hour. nuts to that crap.

Hey, Gunner. I hope you respond to this one.. All I can say is that soccer to me has the fast pace of basketball or hockey with the slower pace (off the ball) and drama of baseball. There's so much more going on during a soccer game. Unfortunately, sometimes you can't pick much of it up on television. Plus what other sport do you have the propect that the official might have to run for his life after a match? And like Gunner says, it's fun to listen to in Spanish. Especially late at night on a staticy short wave radio.

I know I shouldn't say this but football is no different then soccer to watch... someone hits someone here, someone falls down there... then they take a 30 second break and do it again. I'm not knocking football b/c I'm glued to the TV every Sat and Sun in the fall... but to say one is boring as compared to the other is all a matter of opinion.

I can also say I've never seen a guy lay on the ground for an hour? Maybe you could show me when this happened... sounds interesting.

How many high level soccer games have you watched? Even when two quality high school teams play it's still very fast paced. Sure if you watch a U10 AYSO game it's going to be slow... but you will find that not many matches are.
