Eli Manning will be the first player drafted.

The name says it all!

That has to be tough when the person you've been thinking about drafting for the longest times comes out and says don't draft me. I think the Chargers should trade their #1 pick. Manning will still probably be the #1 pick but just not by the Chargers, so Fact.

Well we know it turned out to be a fact.

However what a disapointment in how he handled himself this past week.

I dont see why the chargers didnt take rivers first if they liked him so much. I almost wish they wouldnt have traded manning. He wouldnt have sat out the season. Why couldnt Manning be like a bunch of the other draft picks, happy that he gets the chance to play in the NFL.

well england,

would you rather draft a guy and have him be unhappy them trade him for a 3rd 1st and 5th round.

or draft a guy and keep him..

the most logical choice is trade for draft picks

I thought the giants got a royal screwing at first but they gave up Rivers a 3rd a first next year and a fifth. The fifth round might not even make the team. They needed a young qb and i think that they were thinking next year there will not be a qb that will be up to this standard. I cant think of a qb that will go in the top 10 actually right now, however, he is a Manning so i think that this is a safe pick. They will probally be a playoff team next year so that pick that they gave away probally will be in the 20's. I think he is the only safe bet at qb.

The good thing for Eli in this situation is that he will be able to slowly adjust to the NFL. Rather than be thrust in and abused right out the gate. COuld be a good situation.

I just didnt care for his attitude.

Although Phil Simms had some interesting comments about how he handled it. Eli was completely honest.

WHich he was.

Not necessarily professional, but honest.

well at first when paul tagliabue said that they were trading rivers a 1st and third, and another 1st and third i thought they were insane. but when that third changed to a 5th the deal seemed more acceptable
