the only problem with PSU getting a new coach, is that joepa has made himself into a legend...why do u think they have one of the best recruiting classes in the nation? KIDS WANT TO PLAY FOR JOE PATERNO! im sure they do care that the nits are on a downslide right now, but for most of them, playing for joepa means alot more than having 10 win seasons.

I don't think Penn State's recruit class although better than the last few years was not rated in the top ten nationally and they failed to land that big time wide out recruit.
Hall had some success at the "Gator Nation" but things seemed to be stuck in medocrity in the late 80's, although he had Emmit Smith. Spurrier took over and made Florida an perennial national powerhouse. As far as Hall mentoring Spurrier, I don't know. Spurrier was at Duke before Florida and took the Blue Devil football team to a bowl game!

I'm going to have to agree with Hollywood on this one. Penn State fans can't say how great their team is until they rebound again. Even a 9 or 10 win season. But I truly don't see that happening for awhile. They need a new coach. Paterno is just not getting the job done anymore for whatever reason. Everyone knows that he's seen his better days as a coach. He needs to get out. Then the PSU program will get back to their championship seasons.

i know about joe gibbs but he hasnt coached a game yet. i didnt want to get premature giving him credit for something he will most likely do but has not yet done, be a successful "old-time" coach in today's nfl.
