Great Sports Books
Last fall I read one of the best, if not the best, sports books I've come across: "My Losing Season," by Pat Conroy. It's about his senior season on the Citadel basketball team back in the mid 60s. Absolutely wonderful. I heard Ben Affleck and his production company bought the rights and might make a movie soon.

Bleachers and Friday Night Lights are 2 great football books, also if anyone likes soccer, then Captain for Life by John Harkes is a great book

"Paterno By the Book" Not only one of the greatest sports books but one of my all time favorite.

right now i'm reading 'called up' by dave dravecky...dravecky was a pitcher for the giants and padres in the 1980's and is a cancer survivor...the book is mostly stories of life and faith from all of his years in baseball...

Under the Tarnished Dome..about Notre Dame and all the junk Lou Holtz pulled while there. Some of the things that the players said is amazing.
Alot of the sports books out there are non-fiction, biography types which get really boring. Stephen King needs to write a sports book...he probably does and i just dont know it.
