Smarty Jones will win the Triple Crown!

Post by fleaflicker »

No horse has won the much coveted triple crown since Affirmed in 1978. However, Smarty Jones is only the third horse in history to leave the Preakness with an undefeated record. One of those two, Seattle Slew, won the triple crown in 1977.
As for this, I'm going to say fact. I just saw the Preakness, and Smarty Jones just ripped up the straightstretch going into the finish. It wasn't even close between him and the second horse, Rock Hard Ten. Belmont is only a quarter mile longer than the Kentucky Derby, and I don't think that will be enough distance to worry Smarty Jones. This horse is tough, and he's won all 8 races he's entered, and from what I've heard, it was 8 different distances as well. He'll do it. So Fact.

Sorry Gunner, so far as I know, Bedford doesn't even have a horse track. So any horse that wins would have to be from outside Bedford. lol

Fact. Rock Hard 10 and Eddington don't have enough for him.
THe only two possible are Purge and Royal Assault. Royal Assault is supposed to be pretty tough at the longer distances like the Belmont. HE make his run late in the race and wins be 7 lengths.
