Trust me, you all haven't seen anything like you're going to. I know a lot of you were just a twinkle in your daddy's eye 17 years ago or too young to remember and didn't experience this the last time. The noise will amaze you, and the #'s of these will amaze you too. They will be everywhere, and I do expect to hear some stories on here about the effect they will have on some sporting events (i.e. a batter getting ready to swing and one flies in his/her face, girls screaming on the field when one lands in her hair, etc. etc.) The chaos is about begin (just kidding about that part - it's not that bad).

As long as they don't pile up on the track while I'm running Wednesday, I think I'll be alright. I've heard that they'd get on the roads so bad that they would cause the roads by slippery by virtue of the thousands (millions?) crushed upon the highways. That's probably best not to think about if you have a weak stomach.

Oh, and they are not out here yet, at least in masses. I took a nice easy 7 mile run up along a road that goes through quite a bit of woods and fields, and didn't see any, so, well, they haven't emerged yet.

I can see where being smashed on the road will create a problem, a memeber of the baseball team is out to kill as many as he can and when you smash em they 'schmen' everywhere. Really sorta sick

There have already been sightings locally...just nothing full scale.
I have a bunch of them in my room right now and most of the adults are a little over 1.5" long from nose to tip of wings. Some of the bigger ones are real close to 2" long.
