Vertical Leap

Post by foghorn »

Anybody know of a good program for improving vertical leap? Don't really feel like paying $150 for those platypus shoes.

Plyometrics

Search the Internet for a good, solid plyometrics program. I know a personal trainer who has some excellent methods for improving overall strangth, jumping ability, speed, power, etc.

i ordered a program off the internet, i didnt use it yet so im not sure how well it works, however from what i hear ... its better to use programs that dont require special shoes or weight programs... if u use ur natural body weight and normal shoes you will maintain what you gain even when you are done with the program .. if you use things like strength shoes, once you quit using them you lose what you got from them ... plus i have friends who tryed strength shoes, they ended up quitting, but after probably a month of dedicated, hard work... they gained Maybe an inch.... so i'd look for a natural program to use

I heard Bedford's AD still can dunk because of a secret jumping program. Too bad he wouldn't share it with his boys---especially the eldest.

Ankle weights are a BAD idea. Maybe in 1970 they were the hot thing. But they are not used very much any more. Doctor and trainers have stated that they will cause damage in the leg structure.

If its comfortable on your leg structure and doesnt rub there shouldnt be a problem. It may be old but some of the veterans in most Pro sports still believe in it.
