Ridge should be strong next year as well, though how strong remains to be seen. Joe Utz, Jason Foltin, Luke Larson, Ryan Young, and Mike Schade are all graduating. So there goes the top throwers and hurdlers, and one good jumper. However, it seems every year that when Ridge loses a guy in an event, another one steps up to take his place for the most part.

Bedford will once again be strong, and I hate to say it, but with the Harris boys and Marshall back, they will be heavy favorites for the county and district meet once again next year. I don't see Bedford's 'dynasty' really ending until Derrick Harris and John Marshall graduate in two years.

Windber and McConnellsburg always seem to be strong in boys track as well.

Girls track, Ridge always has the depth to step it up, but Bedford will be strong next year as well. I can also see Meyersdale, and of course, Berlin, being in the set up. And Berlin, I don't know who they're losing, but they have two very good freshman, and they will be favorites to repeat as District champs next year as well I think.

McConnellsburg is going to be strong in the distance next year and pretty good in the sprinting. As far as the feild events though, the throwing is going to be weak because we lost Hess and the Jumping isn't going to be good either.

Obviously, since I'm from Berlin, I'm going to say both Berlin boys and girls. The girls are losing Ashley Hartman (100, 200, 4x1) and Maggie Samole (400, 800, 4x1, and anything else she's told  ). Castro is looking good, and going to make up points for Hartman in the 100 and 200, and Samole in the 400, a few good freshmen and we're even stronger than this year.

The boys are losing Buddy Darr (110h, 300h, 4x1, long jump), and Kevin Bittner (x1, jav, shot, disc). Beverly (a junior) tried hurdles this year and looked pretty good, has great potential, so again, all that's needed is a freshmen to pick it up in the throws. D'Carrion will be back, and better than ever. I'm gonna go ahead and place my bets on him for 2005 District Champion in the 100, 200, and 400.

Looking like a very promising 2005 season for Berlin Track. :!:

In d-6,I'd say Westmont and Tyrone should be the front runners.Kanuch is good for 4 1sts every time out and they had some other pretty good younger kids.Tyrone loses Crowl but that's about it.They have 4 kids coming back that can jump 19 + in the long and 40+ in the triple.Only Wilson(soph) was the only to beat Marshall and that was at the Igloo.Marshall and Harris both beat him twice after that. They should be particularly strong in the field events.Tyrone's main drawback will be the same as this year, their best distance people would rather run around town on their own than around the track, their distances were horrible! If they get someone to step up there, they could be real good.
